John Pastorik, 81, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at St. Francis Church with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, with prayers at 6:00 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to service on Monday, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with Military Services. John was born August 21, 1931 in Ottawa, Illinois, to John and Anna (Corrigan) Pastorik. He was in the United States Navy. He retired from Libby Owens Ford after 30 years of service. He married Rita Warren on May 16, 1953, at St. Patrick's Church. He was a member of St. Francis Church and Local 19. He is survived by his wife, Rita; two daughters, Judy (Jon) Parker of Ottawa and Jana (Scott) Nelson of Saline, MI; one son, Wayne (Diana) Pastorik of Ottawa; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Pat Pastorik (a Sister of Mercy) of St. Louis, Marguerite (Darryl) Hayes of Chicago, and Marianne (Ray) Morrill of Westfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Warren; and one brother Robert. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Jessica Parker, Andrew Parker, Seth Parker, Luke Parker, Hunter Nelson, and Cole Nelson. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or donors' choice.
