John "Jack" Malik

John "Jack" F. Malik, 76, of Wedron passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Aperion Care Marseilles. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, February 24 at Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Kevin Donoho officiating. Visitation will be 12 to 1:30 pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeBolt Cemetery at a later date. Jack was born April 23, 1941 in Ottawa to Michael and Mary (Wielgopolan) Malik. He married Karlene "Kay" Brooks on October 2, 1965 in St. Joseph's Church in Wedron. Jack worked for the Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) as a safety inspector. After retiring in 2002 he enjoyed woodworking and making wine with numerous friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Karlene "Kay"; his daughter, Sherri (Al) Weygand; one grandson, John Weygand; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and his siblings, William (Connie) Malik of Ottawa, Eugene (Sharon) Malik of Oro Valley, AZ, and Dorothy Tickle of Pensacola, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Marian Brooks, Elizabeth (Betty) Serby, and Richard Malik. Memorials may be directed to the family.
