John Henry Houltram, 91, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday September 28, 2008 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday October 3, 2008 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Patrick Finley officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday October 2, 2008 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Ottawa Funeral Home. He was born on September 5, 1917 at Streator to Harry and Viola (Butcher) Houltram. He married Germanus "Monnie" Walsh at St. Patrick's Church on September 28, 1940. He was employed by Libby Owens Ford from February 1937 to March 1975. he was with the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps from 1945 to 1946. He was a member of St. Patrick's Parish and the American Legion. He attended Lincoln School and Ottawa High School. He is survived by one daughter, Dr. Carol (Robert) Hayner of Fayetteville, NC; one son, Philip (Tracy) Houltram of Arcadia CA; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth McGowan, Andy Brown, Emily Pearl, Ethan Hurley, Jessica Sentz, Brent, Madison and Monica Houltram; seven great-grandchildren, Molly McGowan, Abigal and Henry Sentz, Madeline, Charlie and Matthew Pearl and Sophie Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter Madonna Brown and two brothers, Roy and Edmund Houltram. Pallbearers will be Mel Roth, Robert Purcell, Ralph Nelson, Hans Andrews, Roger Hill and Frank Polancic.
