John Joseph Castelli

John Joseph Castelli, 87, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Pleasant View Luther Home.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Columba Cemetery at a later date.

John was born June 18, 1928 in Ottawa, to August and Elena (Bernardoni) Castelli. He married Sharon Gumm on December 3, 2010.

John retired after 36 years of service at Libby Owens Ford. He was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served in the United States Army as an Infantry Corporal in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. John loved to garden and fix things around the house. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon L. Castelli; five step-children, Edward (Julie) Martin, Lynn (Kevin) Bruck, Michael (Lisa) Martin, Susan (Jack) McCullough, and Connie (Bob) Ham; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and two on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John Castelli; and two siblings, Enzo Castelli and Jean Harris.
