John Burns

John  Burns, 65, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at OSF Owens Hospice, in Peoria, Il .

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Ottawa Funeral Home.

John was born August 10, 1957, in Ottawa, IL, to John and Betty (Thompson) Burns . He married Susan Yell  on December 22, 2007 at The Depot in Mackinaw, IL.

He worked for Peltier Glass Factory until the plant closing. He was an Eagle Scout and can be remembered by his friendly smile and “Hello Friend” greeting. His hobbies included metal working, creating spoon jewelry, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; three daughters, Jessica (Nathan) Sidwell, Erika Peffley, and Sarah (Jamie Randall) Peffley; and his grandchildren, Meredith, Ethan, Madeleine, Tucker and Mila.

John was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials may be directed to the family and will be used in his memory to help others.
