John L. Alleman

John L. Alleman, 86, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Rivershores Care Center. Memorial Services will be on 12:00 noon Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Thomas Thorson officiating. Masonic services will be 11:45 Saturday prior to services. Visitation will be 10:00 - 12:00 two hours prior to services Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Granville cemetery at a later date. John was born April 16, 1927 in Tonica, Illinois to Roy and Leona (Wolf) Alleman. He married Theresa Tonioni on October 18, 1974 in Ottawa. He owned and operated the Ottawa Greenhouse from 1960 to 2010. He was a member of Rotary for 45 years both in the Ottawa Noon and Sunrise Rotary as well as the Masons. One of his greatest hobbies was his model airplanes and hobby store. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa; three children, Bill (Jeanette) Alleman of Naperville, Barb (Don) Mathieu of Warrenville, and Diane (Ron) Martin of Hennepin; eleven grandchildren, two brothers; Roy and Kenny Alleman both of Tonica; and his dogs, Dolly and Buttons. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Mary Doctor and Jim Alleman; his sister, Virginia Jones; and his brother Donald Alleman. Memorials may be directed to the family.
