Joe D. Moore, 66, of Ottawa died at his home Thursday, April 8, 2010. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 11:00AM at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 12, 2010 from 4:00 - 7:00PM at Ottawa Funeral Home. Joe was born May 10, 1943 to Russell and Beverly (Beffel) Moore in Ottawa, Illinois. He was a 1962 Serena High School graduate and attended a school for ministry in Illinois, until he was drafted in the United States Army. He proudly served in the Nato division from 1964-1966. He married Candace Purcell January 19, 1969 at First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. He currently was employed by the State of Illinois Lottery Division. He previously worked at Ottawa Silica, Bellrose Silica, and Uniman Corporation. He owned and operated Stretch Limousine, Moore South Side Shell Station, and the Limo Lounge. He was a member of The Masonic Temple and Vice President of Camp Fire Board. He is survived by his precious wife, Candace; one Godchild, Alexis Fuentes of Marseilles; one sister, Patricia (Thomas) Hopkins of Ottawa; two brothers, Robert (JoAnne) Moore of Georgia, and Jack (Connie) Moore of Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers Dominick Crum, Rob Bennett, Tim Frederick, Cody, Michael and Dustin Purcell. Honorary Pallbearers Chuck and Gladys Clairmont.
