Joan M. Wonders, 57, of Seneca passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her home.
Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00pm Friday, June 17, 2016 at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. Cremation rites will take place following her visitation on Friday.
Joan was born December 22, 1958 in Morris, Illinois to Ronald and Donna (Youmans) Timmons. She received her associates degree in medical coding and billing from UMA college in April 2013. While she attended college she was on the Dean's list; she continued to maintained her 4.0 GPA even while undergoing chemotherapy. Joan was a very artistic person she lived for painting and in the past few years she started working with clay. She put her talent to good use around her house whether it was painting the cherub mural on her dining room ceiling, the buffalo canvas she had above her TV, or even the mural of the sky she painted in her hallway. Joan's passion for painting even allowed her the opportunity to own a mural painting business in Streator. The apple of Joan's eye were her grandchildren, she couldn't be happier when they were around.
She is survived by her parents; one daughter, Melissa Paulsen; one son, Benjamin Wonders; six grandchildren; one sister, Jane Wilson; and her significant other of 14 years, Bob Matlock.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, David Paulsen, he passed away in 1983; and one brother, Kevin Timmons.
Memorials may be directed to Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer Research, 8765 W. Higgins Road, Suite 401, Chicago, IL 60631.
