Joan (Wood) Landis passed away Tuesday evening, March 17, 2015 in Ottawa, Illinois at the Ottawa Pavilion. A memorial service is planned for Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Living Hope Church in Waterloo, NY. Joan was born on December 17, 1940 in Seneca Falls, New York. Although technically a New Yorker, she was a Florida girl at heart and loved to spend time in the sun and play Bingo. She enjoyed singing along with Elvis on the radio and spending time with her daughters and many grandchildren. Joan was generous with her time and talents, serving the Lord in so many ways throughout her life. She helped out wherever she was needed, whether it was as a Sunday School teacher, a bus driver for the Church, or the Church Secretary. Her compassion for others is the reason she received many awards for outstanding performance when she worked as an EMT in New York. She will be missed greatly by her daughters, JoAnne (Timothy) Arwood, Tina Brinson, Kandra Storrs, and Sandra Jacobs; her sisters, Christine (Butch) Taylor and Barbara (Donald) Cook; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by several loved ones, including her parents, Louis and Lois (Gaines) Wood; her twin brother, James Wood; a nephew, David Wood; and her son-in-law, Timothy Arwood. Donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Ottawa Pavilion. Condolences may be sent to the Arwood family at: PO Box 625, Ottawa, IL 61350.
