Joan Fribbs

Joan Fribbs, 85, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. A private memorial service was held at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Joan was born November 17, 1930 in Ottawa, Illinois to Joseph and Lillian (Scherer) Maierhofer. She married William "Earl" Fribbs; he passed away March 11, 2012. Joan loved cooking and retired from Handy Foods in the deli and previously worked at the Daily Times and the First National Bank. She is survived by two sons, Kevin and Brian Fribbs; two grand children, Sarah (Jaerod) Barta and Cory Fribbs; three great-grand children, Nolan and Luke Barta, and Xavier Fribbs; and two sisters, Sally (William) Gibson and Dorothy Peterson. Joan is preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to the family.
