Joan Adams

Joan Adams, 92, of Ottawa, formerly of Wilmington, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home.

Following Joan's wishes, no services will be held. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Joan was born May 21, 1932, in Elliott, IL, to Bernice and Marceline (Logan) Goad. She married Charles Adams on July 9, 1950. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1988.

She worked as a health care worker. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching game shows, doing word searches, and crocheting blankets. She was extremely fortunate and was able to see five generations of her family.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Russell) Cable, Charlene (Mark) Hickok, and Tony (Tami) Adams; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren; and her siblings, Richard Goad, Larry Goad, Ronald Goad, and Pamela (Steven) Ritter.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Marceline; her husband, Charles; a son in infancy, Charles Adams Jr.; a daughter, Cathy Fitzgerald; and her siblings, Beverly Williams, Deloris Cantrell, Donald Goad, Dennis Goad, and Chester Goad.
