Jerry Allan Johnson

Jerry Allan Johnson, 57, of Ottawa, formerly of Minnesota, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at his home. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation rites. He will be buried next to his great-grandparents in Graceville, Minnesota.

Jerry was born March 27, 1959 in Morris, Minnesota, the second child of six children, to parents Lenard Johnson and Elaine Baxter.

Jerry graduated from Ortonville High School in Minnesota. After graduating, Jerry wished to join the United States Army, but was medically released due to a heart murmer. He travelled a lot before finally settling down in Ottawa, Illinois. He was a caring person; he went to Oklahoma to care for his father when he was diagnosed with cancer, and helped build his mother's house. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, Minnesota.

He is survived by his mother, Elaine Young; his children, Michael and Missy Jo; and his brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lenard Johnson; his grandparents, Ora and Frieda Baxter, Pauline Streeter, Russel and Howard Johnson; his great grandparents, Joe Johnson and his wife; and many more relatives.
