Jerry Broadus

Gerald I. "Jerry" Broadus, 71, of Seneca, IL passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home with Msgr. Raymond Boyle officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:00 at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday, February 8, 2010 in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL with Military Services. Jerry was born August 28, 1938 in Ransom, IL to Irvin and Shirley (Bienemann) Broadus. He married Jeannine Galligan February 17, 1980 at Brother King's Pentecostal Church in Joliet, IL. He served in the U.S. Army 1963-1964. Jerry was also a Merchant Marine Captain operating towboats on the Inland commercial river system. He is survived by his wife, Jeannine; one daughter, Patti (Dan) Walter of Chatsworth, IL; three sons, Craig of Pontiac, and Clint and Jerry Broadus of Independence, MO; four grandchildren; six step-children; two step-grandchildren; and one sister, Jeanette (Tom) Sheedy of Dyersburg, TN. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Don and Jim. Pallbearers will be Dan and Travis Walter, Tom Kelly, Tom Sheedy, Craig and Dan Broadus, and Tom Fararre.
