Jerald F. "Jerry" Boisseau, 61, of Chicago, Ill passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at his home. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following his funeral service. Burial will be private at St. Columba Cemetery in Ottawa on December 6, 2014. Jerry was born April 19, 1953 in Ottawa the fourth child of Glenn and Dorothy (Kubis) Boisso. Jerry was a 1971 graduate of Marquette High School, attended Northern Illinois University, Truman College, received his Masters Degree in Special Education from Northeastern University in 1998, Summa Cum Laude with endowments in science, language arts, and middle school. Jerry was employed by the Chicago Public School System, as a special education teacher. He taught at St. Bernedette School and currently a Everett McKinley Dirksen Elementary School. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy of Ottawa; siblings, Mary Beth (Bob) Gleason of Texas, Jeannette (Dave) Bartels of Peru, Rita (Tim) Morey of Marseilles, Joseph ( Colleen) Boisso of Chicago, James Boisso of Ottawa, Dale ( Nancy) Boisso of Dallas, Timothy (Susan) Boisseau of Eureka, and Paul Boisso of Dallas; two uncles Leo (Gabby) Brown of Ottawa, Jack Tierney of Seattle. Eighteen loving nieces and nephews, seventeen adoring great nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by Glenn his father, one brother Charles Boisso, his grandparents, and uncle Werner Kubis, two aunts, Shirley (Boisso) Brown of Ottawa , and Betty (Kubis) Tierney of Seattle. Jerry loved teaching, enjoyed hiking in the mountains with family, slip and slide weekends with nieces and nephews, talking with friends, art-house movies, music, live concerts, and cheering for the Cubs, Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks. He was an avid reader and took pleasure in knowledge. He encouraged people around him to learn. Jerry was a jokester, always got a laugh from stories, daily events, and was a tease with his nieces and nephews. Memorial may be directed to the Everett McKinley Dirksen Elementary School.
