Jerrold Decowski, 71, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Jerrold was born October 3, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Alma (Stroshein) Decowski. He served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. He married Donna Glover October 24, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Wells High School in Chicago and later attended William & Mary College in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was a Millwright for Local 1693 for over 30 years. He later worked as a maintenance man at Pleasant View Luther Home. Jerry loved his family. He took pride in his beautiful landscaping and gardens. He loved and was very talented at wood-working. He also had a great love for building muscle cars and racing them. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; two daughters, Penny (Melvin) Read and Bonny (Robert) Flerlage; and one son, Ron (Cathleen) Rana; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Cass, Brian Read, Austin and Nicholas Decowski, Tyler and Alexia Flerlage, Blake Osborne, Ahsan and Baasim Rana; four great-grandchildren, Brycen and Liam Decowski, Bryleigh and Grayson Cass. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Decowski; one nephew, John Decowski Jr.; and two sisters in infancy.
