Jeanne L. Sinon, 85, of Ottawa, died Monday, October 13, 2008 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 16, 2008 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Jeanne was born October 29, 1922 in Paris, Illinois to Ralph and Kathryn (Hubert) Griffin. She married William Sinon May 4, 1942 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. He died in 1969. Mrs. Sinon worded for LaSalle County Title & Trust Company, she was an administrative assistant for IDOT and she had a daycare center in her home. Jeanne graduated from Whiteworth College in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Jeanne was a past president of St. Columba Parents Club. She loved to play Bridge and belonged to many Bridge Clubs. She is survived by one daughter, Sally (Scott) Stewart of Ottawa; one son, William Sinon of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Brian (Laureen) Phipps of Bloomington, Mickey (April) Phipps of Marysville, Ohio, Aaron (Shelly) Stewart of Naperville, Austin (Dawn) Stewart of Streator, Zachary (Kira) Stewart of Ottawa and Kelsey Dietman of LaSalle; five great-grandchildren, Matthew and Brandon Phipps, Alex Redman and Ethan and Rachael Jeanne Stewart; one foster daughter, Carol Roth of Davenport, Iowa. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Sandy.
