Jeanie T. Basky

Jeanie T. Basky, 93, of Dalzell, IL passed away October 11, 2009, at her home. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 17, at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Msgr. Jerome Ham officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 pm, Friday October 16, at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Jeanie was born December 17, 1915 in Arma, Kansas to John and Margaret (McMilliam) McGill. She married Matthew Basky June 15, 1940 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. He died May 29, 1972. She was a member of St. Francis Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of Americas, and AARP. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Brandow of Dalzell, IL; one son, Larry (JoAnn) Basky of Plymouth, WI; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Esther Wheeler of Ottawa. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn Crutcher and Margaret Heil; four brothers, George, John, Neil, and James McGill. Pallbearers will be Matthew Basky, Jerry Brandow, Joe Olle, Robin Passwater, Ron Eisert, and Joe Strait. Memorials may be directed to the St. Francis Building Fund or to the Masses.
