Jean Ann Martin, 84, of Ottawa, formerly of Seneca, passed away Saturday January 16, 2010 at the Cora J. Pope Home in Ottawa. Memorial Services will be 11:30 AM Tuesday January 19, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Seneca with Pastor Kris Zierke. Visitation will be Tuesday January 19 from 11:00 AM until the time of services at Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home oversaw the cremation. Jean was born November 1, 1925 in Parsons, Kansas to Lee and Bessie Mae (Clampitt) McCormick. She married William Robert Martin November 22, 1948 in Seneca. He died January 20, 1982. She worked as the Village Clerk in Seneca from May 5, 1969 until her retirement on December 31, 1981. Jean enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, dining with her girlfriends, and shopping. When in Florida she volunteered at local hospitals. She also loved to travel. Jean lived in Florida for 20 years until returning to LaSalle County in 2004. She resided at the Cora Pope Home until her passing. Jean is survived by one daughter, Debra Martin of Safety Harbor, FL; two sons, Keith (Amy) Martin of Kinsman and Terry (Linda) Martin of Marseilles, IL; nine grandchildren, Kristin and Matthew Martin, Nathan and Sarah Martin, Leslie Johnson and Jonathon Martin, Matthew, Jacob, and Nathan Cagle. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a daughter, Cheryl Martin. Memorials may be directed to the Cora Pope Home in Ottawa, or Pet Projects in Seneca.
