Ottawa - Jason E. "Jay" Grooms, 28, of Ottawa, died Tuesday, March 4th at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 7 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Grooms was born November 13, 1979 in Ottawa to Rhonda Grooms. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Rhonda Lovell, his fiancee Mary Lucas, one son Jeremy Michael Grooms all of Ottawa; grandparents Larry and Shirley Day of Marseilles; Aunts and Uncle, Patricia (Mickey) Downey of Marseilles, Karen Patarozzi and Don Grooms both of Rockford. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Everett Grooms. Pallbearers will be Jake Ganiere, David Grooms, Morris Lovell; Mickey, Shasta and Justin Downey and Dustin Farrell.
