Janice Susan Wold, 93, of Utica, formerly of Wallace Township passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Friday, June 2 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Visitation will be from to 9 - 11 am, prior to services, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Freedom Lutheran Cemetery. Janice was born April 20, 1924 in Prairie Center, Illinois to Bertram and Clara (Classon) Sampson. She married Eldon Wold, Sr. in 1946 in Eureka, Il. Janice retired as a bookkeeper for the Farmers' Home Administration. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Womens' Auxiliary and Freedom Lutheran Church. She enjoyed listening to Billy Graham and Jimmy Swaggart, reading her bible, and listening to Christian and country music. She is survived by three sons, Jerry (Debbie) Wold of Ottawa, Eldon Wold, Jr. of Surprise, Az; and Mark (Sue) Wold of Utica; two grandsons, Doug and Tim; one great-grandson, Cody; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Wayne Wold; two brothers, Kermitte Sampson and Orville (Phyllis) Sampson; three sisters, Arlette (Joe) Giachino, Bernice (Curt) Grunstad, Gladys (Carl) Schmitt; and one granddaughter, Tammi. Pallbearers will be her two grandsons, Doug and Tim Wold; her great-grandson, Cody Fleming; her godson, Gary Grunstad; and her nephew, Rick Schmitt. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
