Janice Parker

Janice M. Parker, 81, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Kim Wood officiating. Burial will be private at Oakwood Memorial Park at a later time. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Janice was born November 28, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Omar T. and Edna E. (Cummings) Young. She married Gordon Parker on September 16, 1950 in Ottawa. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Parker; one son, Jon (Judy) Parker of Ottawa; three daughters, Diane (Bill) Rogers of Florida, Gay (Richard) Manella of Westlake, Ohio, and Eva (Ken) Anderson of Utica; eleven grandchildren; and one brother, Richard (Janet) Young of Aurora, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter in infancy. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
