Jane "Toni" Antoinette Bennett, 77, of Ottawa passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth in Ottawa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 pm Monday, December 7, 2015 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be 11:30 - 12:30, one hour prior to services, Monday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with Military Honors. Jane was born June 25, 1938 in Champaign, Illinois to William and Betty (Freeman) Bennett. She worked at Community Hospital of Ottawa for 16 years. She was a member of the Women's Army Corps and the American Legion Post 33, and volunteered at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Health Care Center. She served in the Women's Army Corps for 4 years and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. She is survived by her best friend in the world, Rita Doucette; one brother, Phillip (Linda) Bennett of Kendalville, IN; one great niece, Sarah (Jeremy) Wilson of New Haven, IN; three great-great nieces. Kay Lynn, Megan, and Madison of New Haven, IN; and one great-great nephew, Tyler of New Haven, IN She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sandy Riley; and her niece, Vicky Theobald. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN or the donors' choice.
