James E. Kolotka, 88, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Private family services will take place with burial in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, with military honors. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation rites. James was born June 24, 1928 to Paul and Anna (Nanouski) Kolotka. He married Carolyn Eisert; she passed away October 1, 2012. James worked at Libby Owens Ford Glass Co. for 37 years. He was a member of the American Legion. He enlisted in the United States Navy as a Sea Bee and the Army 82 Air Bourne. He was a woodworker and loved fishing. He is survived by three sons, James Kolotka Jr. of Indiana, Mark (Dawn) Kolotka of Ottawa, and John Kolotka of Peoria; three granddaughters, Stacey (Jack) Soulsby, Abigail (Pat) Cooper, and Michelle Ohls; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother Paul Kolotka; and two sisters, Catherine Newcomb and Betty Blue. Memorials may be directed to the American Legion Post 33.
