James Flahaut

James Flahaut, 96, of Ottawa, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, August 16th, at 10:00 am at St. Columba Cemetery. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

James was born on April 9, 1929, in Spring Valley, IL to Frank and Rose (Scalarini) Flahaut. He was a graduate of South West Missouri State College. He served in the United States Air Force from 1948 until 1952. He married Barbara Hall on May 28, 1960 at St. Patrick's Church. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2012. He worked as the comptroller at Ottawa Silica and later at Marquette High School.

He is survived by his sister, Charlotte Corl; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose; as well as his beloved wife, Barbara.
