James Cavatorta, Jr., 79, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2013, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park. James was born November 14, 1934, in Ottawa, Illinois, to James and Pearl (Pellegrini) Cavatorta, Sr. He graduated from Southern Illinois University, with a five year music degree in Tenor Voice. He was a Choir Director and School Teacher for many years. He served in the United States Army in the 1950's. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church. He is survived by his beloved sister, Dianne (Tom) Meyer of Aiken, SC. Two nephews and a niece He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church.
