James H. Burton, 64, of Ottawa, IL, died, Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, May 16, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park, Military Services. Visitation will be from 3 - 5 pm, Sunday, May 15 and one hour before services at Ottawa Funeral Home. James was born, January 16, 1947, in Washington IN, to Alfred and Martha (Anderson) Burton. He works for the Ottawa Elementary Grade School he was a bus driver who cared for his co-workers and the children. He was a retired Teamster. He served in the US Army in 1965 to 1968. He enjoyed coffee at the Oasis, playing cards, and joining his friends at the horse barn. He is survived by; three daughters Brandi (Tim) Gage, Jodi (Tim) Dresen both of Ottawa and Sarah (Matt) Davis of Mendota and one son James Burton of Ottawa eight grandchildren Kassidi Sarles, James Baxter, Shane and Andrew Dresen, Ryan and Nathan Gage, Abigail and Adam Davis. Two brothers Dennis and Darrell (Pam) Burton, three sisters Sharon (Kenny) Lincoln, Deb (Jeff) Frederick and Brenda (Ron) Rex. He was preceded in death by his Parents and one brother Roger Burton . Pallbearers will be Tim Gage, Matt Davis, Tim Dresen, James Baxter, Kenny Lincoln and Leon Walker. Memorials may be directed to the family or donors choice. He was a great friend who was always willing to help others. He was a loving father and best papa in the world. He will be missed by all.
