James Ballou Jr.

MARSEILLES -- James H. Ballou Jr., 51, of Marseilles, died Friday, Aug. 24, at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Williams officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Ballou was born Aug. 1, 1956, in Ottawa, to James Sr. and Dorothy (Gamons) Ballou. He was a mechanic with Evenson Explosives. He is survived by his father of Ottawa; a son, Justin of Granite City; a granddaughter, Katelin Ballou; a sister, Linda (Richard) Vicich of Oglesby; and his former wife, Rita Ballou of Leesburg, Va. He was preceded in death by his mother; and two sisters in infancy. Pallbearers will be Butch Cox, Jerry Nagle, Ron Trelow, Richard and Derek Vicich and Edward Bush.
