Jacqueline "Jackie" Kuzmich

Jacqueline Marlene Kuzmich, 91, of Ottawa passed away February 17, 2022 at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Wenesday, February 23 at St. Patrick's Church, with Father Gary Caster officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 am, prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.

Jackie was born February 7, 1931, in Ottawa to William and Anna (Murray) Jarman. She married Michael A. Kuzmich on September 30, 1950 at St. Patrick's Church; they were happily married for 56 years before his passing on October 30, 2006. Jackie and Mike loved spending time together dancing and traveling, especially in their younger years.

Jackie worked at Libby Owens Ford for almost 20 years before retirement. She served as Trustee for Ottawa Township for over 26 years, until 1999. Jackie was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking Polish food, and made the best pierogis. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Naplate and the Moose Lodge.

She is survived by six children, David Kuzmich of California, Diane Gaines of Ottawa, Bill (Priscilla) Kuzmich of Colorado, Barb (Mike) Davey of Ottawa, Debbie (Kent) Purcell of Ottawa, and John Kuzmich of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Sellett, Rachael (Brian) Nowak, Mike (Tina) Purcell, Dustin Purcell, Cody (Carrie) Purcell, Kyle Kuzmich, Wesley (Shianna) Davey, Joe (fiance Jennifer) Davey, Brian (Emily) Davey, Lindsay (Dave) Larance, and Chris Kuzmich; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and her extended family at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her grandson, Michael A. Kuzmich; and her son-in-law, Jon Gaines.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
