Jack W. Ferguson Sr., 61, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria. Funeral service for Jack will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Deacon Corey Krengiel officiating. The military will fold and present the flag. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 prior to services Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Jack was born January 9, 1952 in Ottawa, Illinois to George and Dorothy (Maltas) Ferguson. He married Mary Hickey June 7, 1972 in Ottawa. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army as well as serving in the reserves. In December 2007 he retired from Agrium Chemical. He loved the Chicago Cubs and Bears, enjoyed playing cards, and absolutely adored his grand-daughters. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Mary; one daughter, Susan (Jim Fessler) Ferguson; one son, Jack (Jamie) Ferguson Jr.; two grand-daughters, Chelsy Almeda and Autumn Ferguson; six brothers, George "Butch" (Bobbi), Clarence (Gloria), Tommy, Richard, Kenny, and Carl Ferguson; seven sisters, Mary Morton, Dorothy Hanson, Marlene Lampson, Juanita Aldrich, Irene Ferguson, Nancy Leech, and Karen Ferguson; four brother-in-laws, Tom (Janice) Hickey, Fred (Kathy) Hickey, James Hickey, and Abe Abendschein; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jim, his sister-in-law, Ruthann Abendschein; his mother-in-law, Kate Hickey; his father-in-law, George Hickey; and two nephews, Joseph Scanavino and Ron "Buddy" Hoyt. Memorials may be directed to his family.
