OTTAWA -- Ida A. Castelli, 94, of Ottawa, died Monday, Sept. 10, at Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mrs. Castelli was born June 12, 1913, in Ottawa, to Bernard and Lena (Orsini) Bertinatti. She married Fred P. Castelli on Aug. 19, 1936. She was a bookkeeper for Wilson Sporting Goods in Chicago, Schermerhorn Oil Company in Peru and Smith Oil Company in Rockford. She graduated from Ottawa Township High School and Brown Business College. She was a member of Ottawa Bowling Hall of Fame and St. Columba Church. She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary (Guy) Blaiszik of Mendota; two sons, Gerald (Gail) of Ottawa and John (Marilou) of Aurora; 10 grandchildren, John Jr. (Paula), David (Michelle), Gerald II (Kirsten) and Jeremy Castelli, Nathan (Cathy) and Pollyanna (Tom) Neumann, all of Ottawa; Robynn (Mike) Roman of Mark, Jennifer (Alan) Mileta of Vancouver, B.C., Brian Neumann of Las Vegas and Taylore Castelli of Galesburg; 20 great-grandchildren; and a niece, Rosanne (ElRoy) Bonini of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by a son, Bernard; and a sister, Stella Bonini. Pallbearers will be John Jr., David, Gerald II, Jeremy and Cody Castelli and Nathan Neumann. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Dorsett.
