Howard B Johnson

Howard B. Johnson, 79 of Seneca passed away July 30, 2011, at Morris Hospital. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be at a later date. Howard was born October 29, 1931, in Streator, Illinois to C. Warren and Mabel (Baker) Johnson. A loving husband and family man, Howard married Aileen (Higgins) on November 14, 1953 at Saint Patrick's Church in Seneca, Illinois. He served in the US Army from 1954 until 1956, stationed in Germany. Howard was a lifetime passionate farmer, trustee for Brookfield Township, and worked for Brookfield and Highland Townships. He was a member of Saint Patrick's Church in Seneca and also a lifetime member of the Liars Club in Kinsman, Illinois. Howard is survived by his wife Aileen and his 6 children, Gerald (Kelly) of Seneca; Joseph A. of Seneca; Linda (Jay) Hansen of Dwight; Gail (Kris) Baker of Byron; James (Karissa) of Seneca; and Shawn (Joan) of Seneca. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Luella Rooney and Florence Dunn both of Seneca; 1 sister-in-law, Mae Johnson of Yorkville. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Lloyd. Memorials may be directed to the Seneca Ambulance Squad or Seneca Fire Department. Arrangements were made by the Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca.
