Helene M. Milus, 89, of Ottawa, Illinois died on Christmas Day Thursday, December 25, 2014 in Rockford, Illinois surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services and Liturgical Prayers will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Corey Krengiel officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Helene was born on Easter April 12, 1925 in Crystal City, Missouri, to Grover Cleveland and Mary Ann (Fitzgerald) Williams. She married Robert Milus on September 24, 1949 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He died April 17, 1978 . Helene retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and AT&T after 23 years of services. During World War II, she was an aircraft worker at Libby-Owens-Ford and also worked for Luminous Process. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and "Sunday Mass". She was member of St. Columba Church, and a volunteer leader in 4-H, Campfire Blue Birds, and was a foster mother. She attended Lincoln Grade School and Ottawa Township High School. She is survived by Daughter, Robeth Ann "Robbie" ( Bill ) Christie of Rockford, a grandson Christopher Christie of Rockford a brother in law Leonard Milus and a sister in law Beverly Gondolfi, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband and two beloved grandsons Michael and Jonathan Christie, two brothers Raymond and Edward Williams, and a sister Shirlee Elzer. Helene was a wonderful, caring person who gave her family all the love that she had.
