Helen Spaulding

Helen Spaulding, 89, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Rivershores Care Center in Marseilles. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. Columba Cemetery. Helen was born October 26, 1923 in LaSalle, Illinois, to Vincent and Florence (O'Connor) Aubry. She married Francis Spaulding on January 13, 1944 at St. Mary's Church in Utica. He passed away September 26, 2004. Helen was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Catholic Daughters of Americas. She is survived by one daughter, Jean (Rick) Less of Ottawa; one son, James (Sharon) Spaulding of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Todd Spaulding of Ottawa, Jason Newbury of Madison, WI, Beth (Mike) Graham of Ottawa, Tracy (Ron) Collins of Manteno, Chris (Dan) Flaherty of Plainfield and Kirk Less of Plainfield; seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexander and Matthew Graham, Molly, Josh and Sam Jones, and Fiona Flaherty; one brother, Harold (Marge) Aubry of Utica; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Vincent Aubry, Evelyn McGinnis, Irene Donahue, Marie Sexton, and Raymond Aubry. Pallbearers will be Jason Newbury, Todd Spaulding, Mike Graham, Jerry Sexton, Ron Donahue, and Dennis Aubry. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church Building Fund, Marquette Academy, or the Donors' Choice.
