Helen L. Roth

Helen Louise Roth, 94, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday March 13, 2019 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Funeral Services will be at 4pm, Sunday, March 17 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Bruno Byomuhangi officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 pm, prior to services, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at a later date.

Helen was born February 26, 1925, in Odell, IL, to George and Julia (Petersen) Oelschlager. She married William "Rocky" Roth on September 14, 1946 at St. Patrick's Church; he passed away December 10, 1988.

Helen was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Alter and Rosary Society. She was a charter member of Shoreline Boat Club. Helen loved to camp, fish, go boating, play cards, and bingo.

She is survived by one son, Dave Roth and Vicki Stacy of Ottawa ; her sister, Lorraine (Richard) Nance; her bother, Loren Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Rocky"; one son, Robin, who passed away October 14, 1999; and one brother, Ed (Marian) Oelschlager.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
