Hazel Decker

Hazel L. Decker, 94, of Ottawa, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 at River Shores in Marseilles. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Polly Climson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Hazel was born March 23, 1914 in Marengo, to Frank and Claudine (Gratteau) Norris. She married Orville Decker on December 8, 1931 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He died January 2, 1981. She is a member of First United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose, AARP and Dayton Women's Club. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Swiggett of Ottawa and Sharon Swiggett of Kenosha, WI; one son, Don (Kathy) Decker of Ottawa; 9 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Florence, in infancy; one son, Terry; two sisters, Sylvia Roth and Jean Bell and one brother, Ervin Norris. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Kevin and Brian Swiggett, Steve Decker, Mark Lines and Lee Hedman. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Ott and Chris Swiggett.
