Harold J. Radtke

Harold "Jeff" Radtke, 61, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Saturday September 12, 2009 at the LaSalle Veterans Home, LaSalle, IL. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday September 16, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 Wednesday September 16, prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in LaSalle, IL. Jeff was born March 23, 1948, in LaSalle, IL to Harold and Beverly (Zorn) Radtke. He married Georgia Pryde and they had two children. He then married Maribeth Radtke February 3, 1995 in Ottawa, IL. She died October 21, 2007. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. He worked as an Ameritech Lineman for Illinois Bell. Jeff was a lifelong member and past Commander of the American Legion. He was also a member of the AM Vets, VFW, Moose Lodge, and the Forty and Eight, and Shoreline Boat Club. He is survived by one daughter, Rachel (Alec) Hueneburg of Peru; one son, H. Ryan (Liz) Radtke of Peru; four grandchildren, Callan and Halden Hueneburg, and Ellie and H. Rock Radtke; one brother, Shaun (Carol) West of Oglesby; one sister, Wendy (Jeff) Wynn of Morris, IL; and his Mother and Father-In-Law, Betty and Mike Starjak of Ottawa. He is preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Memorials may be directed to the family.
