Harold was born July 7th, 1958, in Ottawa, IL, to Raymond and Connie (Treen) Mercker.

He worked at Welsch Ready Mix as a truck driver before his retirement. Harold loved watching Nascar and collecting memorabilia, going to the coon chase nearly every year in Ohio, and spending time with his best friend, Tim Bailey and his wife Vicky,  whom he lived with for a period of time while in Ohio.  He would always bring back Amish goods for his friends and grandkids from his trips there. Other then being a father, one of his biggest accomplishments was being part of the building of the Chicagoland Nascar track in Joliet, where he helped pour the cement during construction.  At the end of his life he spent the remainder of his days with his daughter and grandkids.

He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Mercker; his grandchildren, Matteo Mercker, Emmy Small, Trinity Small, Richard Mercker, Zoey Cichorz, Alister Mercker; and his sister, Kimberly (Dallas) Hall.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vicky Vernoy; his son, Richard Mercker; and his uncle, Robert Baum.

Memorials may be directed to his daughter, Samantha Mercker.
