Harley Jennings Aylor, 82, of Ottawa, passed away November 2, 2011 at Ottawa Regional Hospital with his family at his side. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. Harley was born July 27, 1929 in Covington, Kentucky to Howard and Christine (Jones) Aylor. He married Patricia Bartley with whom he had four children. He later married Barbara Harte. He attended Culver Military Academy and Ohio University. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, flying 93 missions as an RF-80 Reconnaissance Pilot. Harley started his business career at Aylor & Meyer Feed Company, followed by employment at Early & Daniel Company, Dayton Bag & Burlap, and John F. Young Company. He retired after 40 years as partner and then owner of Bullard-Aylor, Inc. in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a manufacturers' representative agency proudly serving the animal feed industry formed in the Chicago area in 1963. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), International Aerobatic Club (IAC), President of Chicago Feed Club, National Feed Industry Association, and a long time member of the American Feed Manufacturers Association (AFMA). He was an avid model railroad buff, golfer and a dedicated Cincinnati Reds fan. One of his greatest passions was flying his Pitts S2A aerobatic plane. He loved his two little dogs, Max and Barney. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Trudy Aylor of Bradenton, FL and Kris Aylor of Sarasota, FL; two sons, Jack (Becky) Aylor of Lake Zurich, IL and Joe Aylor (fiancé, Cathy Thomas) of Bradenton, FL; one sister, Harriet Ryan; brothers-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Harte, Bruce (Janice) Harte, Jim (Ellen) Harte; sisters-in-law, Gail (Charlie) Wadell, Sheri (Steve) Harte Willis; father-in-law, Neil Harte; a niece, nephews, cousins, step nieces, step nephews, great nieces and nephews and many, many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Having lost both parents in his youth, he became especially close to and was preceded in death by his uncles and aunts, Wilford and Catherine Aylor and Walton and Wilma Rogers. Also by his former wife Patsy and mothers in law Mary G. Bartley and Jean M. Harte. Memorials may be directed to the family for cancer research or to the St. Columba Church Building Fund.
