Guy "Brad" Reynolds

Guy "Brad" Reynolds, 84, of Ottawa was called from this earth by the grace of God and entered his joyful eternity in Heaven on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. Patrick's Church with Father Tony Fevlo and Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be private with Military Honors. Brad was born September 27, 1930 in Ottawa, Illinois to Ethel and Jay Reynolds. He married Helen Waichunas on April 4, 1959. Brad was best known as "Brad the Barber". He liked to hunt and fish, was an avid bowler, enjoyed bowling with the pros on several occasions and was proud to have bowled a 300 game. He loved to spend time outside working in the yard and growing tomatoes. Brad had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life. He was a people person; always eager to help others. He loved everybody and everyone loved him. Brad was a veteran of the Korean War and earned a Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters, Christi Reynolds of Marseilles and Cynthia Reynolds of Rockford; son, Bradley (Lynn) of Lisle; step-daughter, Nancy Chavez; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kimberly, and Bradley Reynolds Jr.; and his brother, Hugh and family. He is preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Sherman Thomas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or Ottawa Hospice.
