Gregory Eugene Lavalle

Gregory Eugene LaValle, 64 of Marseilles, Illinois passed away Wednesday March 13, 2019 at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 3 pm, Tuesday March 19, at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Coley officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 pm, prior to the services at the funeral home. He will be buried at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Greg was born December 22, 1954 in Chicago to Eugene Richard LaValle and Maurine Burgund. He was a proud member of the United States Army, serving from 1974 to 1976. Greg loved riding motorcycles and playing cards. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, staying in his cabin, and playing on the water. Greg was a life-long Veterans advocate, he was a lifelong member of the NRA and a member of the Ottawa VFW Post 2470.

He is survived by three children, Michelle LaValle of Peru, Brian Gregory (Heather Thomas) LaValle of Streator, and Lindsay (Samuel) Durfee of Utah; five grandchildren, Christopher, Lucas, Alexander, Aubrey, and Hunter; two brothers, Jonathan and Warren LaValle; his sister, Karen LaValle; and his uncle, Paul M. (Bobbie) Burgund.

He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, Paul and Dorothea Burgund; and one brother, Kevin LaValle.
