Glenn Brockman

Glenn Brockman, 87, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the chapel at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Streator. A prayer service will follow at 1:00pm with Fr. Matt DeBlock officiating.

Glenn was born March 21, 1936, in Marseilles, IL, to Omer and Myrtle (Mills) Brockman. He married Carol Lechner on October 1, 1979.

Glenn worked for 40 years as a millwright for Nabisco in Marseilles. When he wasn't working, he would occasionally help out his family farming. He was extremely handy; he built his first house and could fix anything. He took great pride in his lawn and always wanted his house to look perfect.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Brockman; his children, Deanna (Jim Strukel) Johnson of Ottawa, David (Maria) Brockman of Crozet, Virgina, and Kathy Brockman of Darien; his stepchildren, Jeanne (Greg) Washko, Mary (Mike) DeBlock, and Jim (Emily) Dzurisin; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; his siblings, Margaret Hannes, Carolyn Latimer, Kenneth Brockman, Mary Morello, and Imogene Seaborn; and his sister in law, Mary Brockman.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Gusty Waggoner, Paul Brockman, and Lois Williamson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to make donations in his honor to the Ottawa Police Department Shop with a Cop program.
