Geraldine Schomas

Geraldine "Gerry" Schomas, 72, of Ottawa, died Sunday, June 29, at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis od Assisi Church, Ottawa, with the Rev. Gerald Meyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ottawa Funeral Home, with prayers at 4 p.m. Mrs. Schomas was born February 6, 1936, in Ottawa, to Albert and Louise (Godwin) Midnight. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and AARP. She is survived by two daughters Pam (Mark Janusz) Crowley of Ottawa and Michele (Randy) Kaufmann of Sheridan, IL.; one son, Douglas (Nanette) Schomas of Ottawa; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Quinn Crowley, Kendall and Lindsey Kaufmann, Kailey, Brett, and Bryant Schomas; three sisters, Verna ( Joseph) Miler, Lucille (Gaylon) Marek, and Dolores Brooks all of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Patricia Alvarado. Pallbearers will be Bob Hornbeck, Kevin and Mike Marek, Randy Alvarado, Randy Kaufmann, and Mark Janusz.
