Georgia Britton,83, of Clinton Iowa formerly of Ottawa, IL, died, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Bickford of Clinton in Clinton, Iowa, where she was a resident of six years. Funeral Services will be at 6:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Potts from the Baptist Church in Cairo, Illinois officiating. Visitation will be from 3:30 - 6:00 pm Friday, April 15 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial in Oakwood Memorial Park. Georgia was born August 30, 1927 in Wickliffe, Kentucky to Edward and Haley (Johnson) Ivy. She married Eugene C. Britton on July 10, 1944 in Wickliffe, Kentucky. He died August 30, 1997. She worked at U.S. Silica. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived two daughters; Sherry (Gene) Crippen of Jonesboro, IL, and Paula (Dennis) Williams of Ottawa; one son, Eddie (Debbie) Britton of Clinton, IA; five grandchildren, Dustin and Derek Williams, Michelle Melchert, Michael Eck, and Heather Moore; and one sister, Myril (Vernon) Rose Sanders of Wickliffe, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, Juanita Cage. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
