George A. Pfau, 85, of Galesburg, formerly of Grand Ridge and Friendship Village, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Memorial Services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, March 22 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 am, one hour prior to the services, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. George was born June 24, 1932 in Grand Ridge to Matthew and Loretta (Mullen) Pfau. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Gladys) Pfau, of Ottawa, IL; nephews, Michael Pfau of Serena, IL, Charles Pfau Jr. of North Aurora IL, Donald Pfau of Olympia Fields, IL, Edward (Teri) Pfau of Bement, IL, and William (Patricia) Pfau of Leland, IL; nieces, Barbara (William) Johnson of Marietta, GA and Alice (William) Pfau-Pakenham of Earlville, IL; 16 grandnephews and nieces; 13 great-grandnephews and nieces; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles (Maxine) Pfau; his nephew, James Pfau; and his niece, Mary Jane Pleskovitch. Memorials may be directed to Trulson House, 260 Michigan Ave. Galesburg, IL 61401. The Pfau Family would like to thank Dana and the staff at the Trulson house for the friendship and excellent care that was provided to George.
