George R. Myer, 90, of Evenglow Inn, Pontiac, for the past four years, formerly of Seneca, passed away Dec. 26 at BroMenn Healthcare Center in Bloomington. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca with the Rev. Michael Hillyer officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Seneca where American Legion Kasal Post 457 will fold and present the flag. George was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Seatonville, to Earl and Ada (Williams) Myer. He married Geraldine Imbronone Dec. 7, 1942, in Detroit, Mich. She died July 16, 2005. He owned and operated Myer Sales and Service in Seneca for 35 years. George served in the Army-Air Corp during World War II in the Pacific Theater from 1942 until the war ended. He was the founding member of the Seneca Boat Club. He is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Ronald) Farmer of Greenfield, Ind., Linda (Rick) Patarozzi of Pontiac and Donna Myer of Seneca; nine grandchildren, Keith Farmer, Christine Evans, Julia Baker, Rebeca Rakoczy, Jennifer Milton, Michelle Mettille and David, Lindsey and Jonathan Bowling; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife; one sister, Camilla Wise; and one brother, Russell Myer. Pallbearers will be Ron and Keith Farmer, Rick Patarozzi, Jonathan Bowling and Kevin Rakoczy. Memorials may be directed to Evenglow Inn in Pontiac.
