Gary Mcconville

Gary Donnell McConville, 66, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Monday February 17, 2020 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Gary was born September 12, 1953, in Ottawa, IL, to Donnell and Bernice (O'Rourke) McConville . He married Carol Williams on April 13, 1996 in Las Vegas Nevada.

He previously worked at 1st National Bank and Ottawa National Bank and later worked as a sales rep for MTC Motorcycles and JB Supplies. He retired as a salesman/rep.

He loved to play golf, refereed basketball and loved all sports to watch. Was a Cubs and Bears fan. He loved watching his nephews and grandsons and granddaughters play sports.

He was a member of the Ottawa Moose Lodge 960 and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife Carol; two daughters Kara McConville, Heather Gerkitz and one son Dennis Applebee; five grandchildren Kris and Emma Gerkitz, Jonah, Isaac and Lauren Applebee; three brothers, Ed (Loretta) McConville , Steve (Judie) McConville, and RE Larkin; five nephews, Ryan, Matt, Donald, Chad McConville and Landon Larkin.

Gary was preceded in death by his Father, Donnell McConville, Mother and stepfather, Bernice and Bob Larkin.

Pallbearers will be Kristopher Gerkitz, Chad McConville, Donald McConville, Landon Larkin, Jonah Applebee, Phillip McDonald and honorary pallbearers will be Emma Gerkitz and Lauren Applebee.
