Gary R. Johnson, 68, of Ottawa, passed away Monday November 2, 2009 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday November 7, 2009 at St. Columba Church with the Rev. Ray Guthrie officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 6, 2009 from 4-8 PM at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Gary was born December 1, 1940 in Ottawa, Illinois, to George and Lillian (Criar) Johnson. He married Nancy Bokus April 28, 1962 at St. Columba Church. He was retired co-owner of Farrell and Johnson in Ottawa and Marseilles. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his mother Lilly Johnson of Ottawa; four daughters, Vickie (Richard) Kelso of Mullica Hill, NJ, Dawn Johnson of Ottawa, Carie (Russell) Rexroat of Ottawa, Heather Johnson of Athens, GA; eight grandchildren; 1 Great Granddaughter; one sister Janet Newell of Ottawa; five brothers, George (Darlene) of Ottawa, Richard (Sharon) of Utica, Robert Johnson of Ottawa, James (Karen) and Kenneth (Mary) Johnson, both of Henry. He is preceded in death by his Father, one sister, Edith Hasting. Pallbearers will be Trevor and Russ Rexroat, Richard and Ryan Kelso, Tom Gregor, and Dwight Lanier. Memorials may be directed to the family.
