Gary G. Davis, 69, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home. Memorial Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Ewing officiating. Celebration of his life and visitation will be from 6 - 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 25 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Gary was born, October 24, 1942, in Bluford, Illinois, to John Leroy and Tressie (Wood) Davis. He married Jeannette E. Pape on September 12, 1965 in Merrick, New York. He served in the US Army for 5 years. He worked for Caterpillar for 37 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 33. He is survived by his wife; one son, John Davis of Ottawa; one granddaughter, Morgan Davis of Bloomington, Illinois; and one sister, Betty Clark of Belvidere, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Forrest and Barney Davis. Memorials may be directed to the family.
