Gabriela "Gaby" Duffy

Gabriela M. "Gaby" Duffy, 25, of Ottawa, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14 at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 Wednesday May 13, at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00. Burial will be at a later date. Ottawa Funeral Home oversaw the cremation. The daughter of Michael and Patricia (Guzman) Duffy, Gaby was born November 13, 1983 in Mexico. She was an Alumni of Columbia College in Chicago where she received a Bachelors Degree in Photography. She was recently accepted to Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY to pursue a degree in Art History. She also taught photography in Chicago. Gaby is survived by her parents of Ottawa; three sisters, Alex, Sammy, and Maddy Duffy all at home; her maternal Grandmother, Teresa Lucio Guzman of Mexico; and her paternal Grandmother, Grace Duffy of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her Maternal and Paternal Grandfathers. Pallbearers will be Miguel Guzman, Bob Duffy, Ray and Shawn Burke, Scott Whipkey, and Jeff Workman. Memorials may be directed to the family.
