Frederick "Fred" Sprague

Frederick E. Sprague, 69, of Ottawa passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded through Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside services will be held at St. Columba Cemetery Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the American Legion in Ottawa at 5 pm. Fred was born February 22, 1948 in Ottawa to Edward and Patricia (O'Connell) Sprague. He was a union boilermaker for most of his life. He was a member of the American Legion and the Boilermakers' Union. He is survived by four children, Eddie, Richard, Stephanie, and Jamie; 10 grandchildren; 9 nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Candace (Samuel) Sheneman of Marseilles, and Tammy (Chris) Mathews of Shirley IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Sprague. Memorials may be directed to the Estate of Frederick Sprague.
